What's included in the monthly rate?

Everything: the fully furnished home, power (solar-assisted), ultra-fast fibre internet, premium linen and towels, a fully equipped kitchen and laundry, the spa pool, and the outdoor living areas with Weber BBQ. Just bring your suitcase.

What outdoor spaces does the home have?

A six-person spa pool with sweeping Pacific views, an outdoor lounge and dining area, and a large Weber BBQ — all tucked into a private, quiet laneway setting.

Is the house set up for remote work?

Yes — a dedicated workspace with two electric standing desks, 32" screens, and a plug-and-play laptop setup, backed by 900 Mbps fibre. Ocean views included.

What kitchen appliances are provided?

Our chef's kitchen includes high-end Bosch and Fisher & Paykel appliances, a Moccamaster coffee maker, Aarke soda maker, and everything you need to cook and entertain.

Is there Wi-Fi available?

Yes — ultra-fast fibre internet (900 Mbps down, 400 Mbps up), ideal for streaming, video calls, and remote work.

Does the house have parking?

Yes, there is a private carport with an Evnex EV fast charger beside the house (free to use, and often solar-powered). The laneway is narrow, so extra vehicles can park on the footpath where safe.

Is the property pet-friendly?

Sorry, no pets are allowed to ensure a clean and allergy-friendly environment for all guests.

Is Sumner a good place for families?

Very much so. Sumner is a safe, beachside village with playgrounds, cafes, a boutique cinema, and a well-regarded local school, and Christchurch's leading private schools are roughly a 25–30 minute drive. The Botanic Gardens, Riverside Market, and the city's attractions are an easy trip.

Are there restaurants within walking distance?

Yes! Sumner has a vibrant food scene with cafes, restaurants, and bars all within walking distance (if you feel like a hill walk) or a short drive. From casual fish and chips to restaurant dining, you'll be spoilt for choice.

Is there a grocery store nearby?

Yes, there is a small but very well-stocked new supermarket in Sumner, just a few minutes' drive from the house.

When is the home available?

Highview is available from August 2027 for stays of three months or longer. We host only a small number of long stays, so if you know your dates — or they are still flexible — it pays to get in touch early.

What are the lease terms?

Simple: a fixed-term stay from NZ$15,000 per month, with a three-month minimum. The home is fully furnished and all bills are included, so there is nothing to set up when you arrive. A standard bond applies.

Can a car be included?

Yes. We can include a Tesla Model Y with your stay, so you have a car from day one — charged for free at the house on our solar-assisted Evnex fast charger. Ask about it when you enquire.

Who is Highview best suited to?

Professionals and families arriving in New Zealand for an extended stay — relocating executives, new residents settling into Christchurch, and anyone who wants a turnkey luxury base by the beach while they get to know the country.
